I can apply for 3 years H1-B extension (8,9 and 10th year) based on my approved I-140. However, my Indian passport expires in August 2008. Does this have anything to do with H1-B extension? Will I geet 3 years extension?
Can I renew my passport now before applying for my H1-B extn? Can I get my passport renewed before 6 months of expiry?

Admin/Moderators and other distinguish members,
Can we use this site for networking and socializing with people in similar situation and/or sharing similar vocations....
This would mainly include invitation for a public gathering and encourage others to come forward. Examples of nature of such public gathering:
1. Say people in finance sector meet and exchange thoughts
2. Religious in nature but will not be solicitation.
3. General meeting etc...
What do people in this forum think?

This Act resulted in the recapture of 130,107 unused employment-based visa numbers from 1999 and 2000 to be made available to first, second, and third preference employment-based immigrants once the annual limit had been reached. Approximately 94,000 of those recaptured visa numbers were used in 2005, none were used in 2006, and 7,312 were used in 2007. In addition, provisions of the REAL ID Act of 2005 resulted in the recapture of 50,000 unused employment-based visas from 2001 to 2004, of which 11,950 were used in 2005, 33,335 were used in 2006, and 4,743 were used in 2007.

gap between your company A exit date and the date they withdrew your I140?
As per law,, they should not do it for 6 months old approved I140 ?
As I posted earlier, I had left Company A before the I-140 approval, so I don't really know how long they waited before withdrawing the approved I-140.
Are you sure that there is a law regarding the 6 month period? AFAIK, this only applies when you have filed you I-1485. If it's prior to that, AC-21 doesn't apply...

My receipt Date is July2nd2007 and current for EB2 PD March2007
I had inccorrect fee issue but it got resolved and later got EAD/AP
My case status show's wierd incorrect fees yet

We are also on the same boat. My GC (primary ) approved on Aug 2008 and my wife's 485 still pending, we have returned back from India last week and no questions asked about her AP.

Yes. Show Company-A unexpired H1-visa-stamp and Company-C H1-I797-Approval Notice at port of entry.
Can i use the same Visa for reentry to US when i am coming back on May/June.

if u stay outside the US for 366 days, the h1 clock is reset - then u can re-enter in h1 status for a new 6 year term - u must have an approved h1b petition, the new petition is subject to cap. (which gets exhausted really soon) -

My I-797 approval notice was received several months ago. Does that reduce the possibility of security delays? Also, is there a way to take proactive steps to make sure PIMS is cleared before visa interview date?

I just applied I-485 with EAD/AP on July 2nd. my wife also has H1. I am the primary to 485.

My wife wants to go for permanent position on EAD. When she will eligible for permanent position? After 180 days or can before?

Years ago or should I say ages ago not even in the US of A but at Heathrow at the American Airlines counter (that time I was a student for MS) the lady was going thru my I-20 and was asking for additional documents et al...so I had this bunch of documents in my folder...and her eyes landed on my degree certificate...she asked me you have a degree from IIT and you couldn't get a job still ? that's why you are going for your MS....i was like well I wanted to do research....why not in India? I was like this is not even USA and this is my 2nd visit to USA (after the Christmas break in the 2nd year)....why are they asking so many questions and this is pre-9/11.....
I was like why is she harassing me....Do you have intentions of staying back in the USA after you finish your MS....I said no I plan to do my PhD in the UK...She gave me a ugly look and stamped my passport and let me go....

I was wondering with only 4 clean posts how could you get a red dot :) ...
and on the issue of SSN, when I first came to this country I had gone thru the same but in my case I got the card after 6 weeks of the application ... but this wait was painful ... fortunately my company provided me salary advance (or say some money in advance which they later adjusted with my salary) and I survived ...

Looks like at least they have touched or near review for all the cases filed in July 07 Rush and if Visas are available, at least in a position to approve. Aug 17th was the dead line to file the applications back in 2007 when they opened the gates. The processing dates shown below represent the receipt dates of petitions and applications currently being processed by the USCIS Service Center as per their webpage. .Also the processing times are as of 4/30/2009.

Friends - Thanks for your help on this one. After getting suggestions from you guys, I did call my lawyer too. He asked me to go back to the airport and Submit my I-94 and related docs to the CBP department there.
After that I called the CBP Customer care for NJ at (703) 526-4200 and the rep asked me to go to CBP website and asked me to mail the I-94 to the address written there. Here is the link for your reference. Alo in this website, it says clearly, DO NOT submit to any other CBP office other than the address mentioned.

There is nothing to be afraid of. I don't think they will even ask where you work. Just talk about Employment based GC retrogression problem and Immigration Voice. They are not interested in hunting down you or your company.
