The Dems. don't want to go this alone. If they get some Republican support they will go along with it.
Republicans will only get on board if they see the proverbial crops rotting, buildings left unbuilt, and inflation picking up and all the beneficial effects of immigration dissipate. Thats what we are seeing now, stepped up enforcement to see if any of this happens. The arrest and deportation of that illegal immigrant who sought refuge in a Chicago church is as much real as symbolic of a shift in US Gov't policy.

Hi guys,
I am in real need of suggestions for attorneys in the area. I am in PA, and need a good attorney (since mine just dropped off the face of the earth). Don't really care where he/she is, but I want to go with someone that it's been suggested by other immigrants, rather than other attys.

I think it is not the company but the service provider's gateway address. This usually happens in Iselin, Edison - NJ areas where there is a huge concentration of immigrants. USCIS is probably tracking and blocking the IPs.

The U.S Department of State (DOS) has advised that there are no more employment-based visa numbers available for fiscal year 2009, which concludes September 30, 2009. This affects all employment based categories, but particularly applicants in the employment-based non-ministerial fourth category (EB-4). The EB-4 non-ministerial category includes religious occupation, vocation and professional categories (but not the ministerial category).
The non-ministerial EB-4 category is set to expire September 30, 2009 and individuals in this category must have their adjustment of status applications approved or if they applied via consular processing, they must be admitted into the United States by midnight by September 30, 2009. Unless Congress extends the sunset provision, individuals in the EB-4 non-ministerial category are unable to file Form I-485 Adjustment of Status Applications or consular processing applications after September 30, 2009.
While the I-360 religious worker petitions (ministerial and non-ministerial categories) may still be filed before September 30, 2009, given the unavailability of visas in the EB-4 category the month of September, the Applications to Adjust Status (Form I-485) or applications for consular processing will not be accepted this month. Thus, adjustment of status applications that remained pending will not be approved unless a visa number had already been captured.
Individuals in the EB-4 ministerial category are eligible to file Adjustment of Status applications until October 1, 2009, when visas in the EB-4 category become available. I filed the 485 for my wife and myself along with the forms for AP and EAD to the Phoenix lockbox by the 1st week of September and I have not received the receipt notice. The check also has not been cashed so far. I am not sure if I still have to wait or just panic. The customer service wants me to wait for little longer. My priority dates are current now and don't want to wait for another 30 days to realize that my application was lost in the mail room.
I have a delivery notice confirmation from UPS.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Please note that an I-485 approval invalidates the H-1B visa.
I would travel to the US before Advanced Parole expiry to obtain the GC and return. I am not sure of any exceptions - please post the question in 'Ask a Lawyer' section ASAP.

Yesterday i recived a hard LUD on my I-485. Below is the new status from the USCIS website.. Does anyone know what this means ?

Wow, very interesting. Though I might experiment with cropping (first try would be cutting off the bottom, including the one bird down there, to make it more panoramic and [hopefully] make the horizon less centered), there's not really anything that I'd change about this photo. Good work, IMHO. :)

Any word on when PP for I-140 will come to life?
USCIS said PP is suspended till 8/1 and later will analyze the situation to bring it back. The analysis is talking more than a month. It is known that they have been busy people this past month. Is the I-140 application flood effecting their analysis?

I start to study WOM, my district court web doesn't list anything about that, then I find aonther site lists WOM cases filed in my district, but no status mentioned. Does anyone knows? I appreciate!

Yes you have to fill out separate forms. I applied for my parents last october. One of them got it in 10 days and the other took more than a month. It is advisable to get the application in well ahead of your trip

We filed 485 on Jul 2nd. So far no receipt yet.:(
My wife's F1 status is going to expire in Aug. She needs to change her status to H4 now. Will the status change have any negative influence on our 485 application? Do we need to send some amendment regarding the COS?
Btw, which center she needs to send COS this time?:D :D Thanks a lot.
In a memo posted by the USCIS (in the press room tab) appears a notice where they say that receipts of july filers will be delivered by August 1st.

Any idea with whats going on with TSC Processing times, my PD is current Nov' 2003, however do not see any movement in the processing times, 485 applied on Aug 7, 007, any idea when they will publish the new processing times? Any way we can know where we are in the 485 proccess?
